This is a 40 hour continuing education training course designed to meet the standards of the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners and BHEC . Six of the 40 credits are in Ethics (you do NOT need 12 ethics hours for this course). Attendees that meet criteria and complete the course can apply for Supervisor (LCSW-S) status immediately.
This course is facilitated by Dr. Carla Groves, LCSW-S. Carla is the founder and CEO of Mind Your Self Counseling in San Antonio. She is passionate about furthering the education and development of social work professionals and has certified more than 350 individuals in Texas since 2020.
This course includes lecture, interactive discussion, role-plays, videos, and activities that help the participant learn and understand critical skills and knowledge directly relatable to conducting supervision. Topics include ethics and ethical dilemmas, cultural competencies, professional boundaries, practice competencies, how to manage constructive feedback, all documentation, TAC, and more.

General Info
All courses include seminar pre-work (done at your pace, in-home) and 3 days of in-class interactive seminar work. All seminars meet via Zoom, and all materials are sent out 3 weeks prior to seminar. A Resource book is included in the cost of the seminar, which contains forms and information you can use and customize as a supervisor.
Classes run from 8:30-5:00, with plenty of breaks and time for lunch.

Requirements
To qualify for LCSW-S status, you must have had your LCSW license for a minimum of two years (cumulative, in any state, but must be a Texas LCSW for -S status).
