Brandy Head is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has primarily worked within the post-acute geriatric healthcare setting. Most recently, she has worked with the veterans in one of the Texas State Veterans’ Homes. Brandy graduated with a BSW from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS and Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from The University of Texas, San Antonio. She has been a social services director in skilled nursing facilities for over seven years, as well as working for a year in an acute behavioral health hospital. In these roles, Brandy worked with both individuals, groups, and families.
Brandy’s mental health experience has entailed working with Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, Bipolar I and II, PTSD, issues of Death and Dying, and Substance Use Disorders. Brandy utilizes a diverse collection of therapeutic modalities including Problem-solving Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Reminiscence Therapy. She employs a philosophy of respect and empowerment to encourage clients to write their own story.
Brandy is married and enjoys her family, living in the country, putting her hands into the dirt, and connecting with nature. Her selfcare mentors are her chickens and five house bunnies. These guys help her to find peace on the most chaotic of days.
