Erica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been working for Mind Your Self since 2018. She started as a graduate intern and now works as a full-time clinical provider. Erica earned her Master of Social Work at the University of Southern California, graduating with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Families.
Erica is passionate about advocacy and social change. This includes bringing empowerment and healing to individuals and families who have experienced trauma or other difficult situations in their life. She recognizes that not everyone responds to therapeutic treatment in the same way and primarily focuses on client-centered approaches. Erica believes in giving the client control over their choices and respecting their self-determination, while she offers empathy and guidance along the way. Erica’s priority is to provide a space where people can speak safely and without judgement.
Erica has deep compassion and sensitivity to the experiences of:
- Military members and their families
- Individuals who are facing racial and/or gender injustice
- The LGBTQIA+ community
- Trauma in childhood and families affected
However, no matter who you are, Erica is ready to help and support you in the best way she can based on your own unique circumstances. She is someone who will cheer you on, challenge you, and teach you new coping skills to help you navigate the complexities of life.
Additionally, Erica has training and knowledge on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She will often use aspects of these therapies with you throughout your treatment.
