Marisa Vasquez is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. She attended the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Marisa also obtained her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. Experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults, families, couples and geriatric populations on a multitude of issues, she utilizes various approaches for psychotherapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy.
Marisa has gained experience implementing art, play and mindfulness techniques to assist the therapeutic process. Her aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment to identify client strengths in a collaborative process. She believes that therapy can be a place of support, enhance coping strategies and challenge clients in an empathetic manner to reach their goals.
In her free time, Marisa enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, gardening and reading.
