Miranda is a Licensed Social Worker. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at Sam Houston State University, where she majored in Sociology and minored in Psychology. She furthered her studies and received a Master’s degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. She is also a Certified Case Manager.
Miranda’s professional experience includes providing services to children, adolescents, adults and families. She has experience working with both children and adolescences with severe emotional disturbance as well as individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Her experience also includes working with the adult population with who are diagnosed with chronic medical diseases; and transition from an acute medical setting back to their residence.
As a social worker, she is knowledgeable in community resources and has experience in medical and mental health care coordination. This also includes addressing environmental factors to mental health needs. Miranda’s approach for therapy is client-centric; where the client is at the center of the care. The develop of the treatment plan will assist with the member’s strengths and preferences for care to promote growth and changed behavior.
