Najeeah is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Texas. She graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor’s in health services administration, then moved to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work from Baylor University.
Najeeah is experienced in working with children, adolescents, and adults (specifically adults who’ve experienced or are experiencing the following: substance use disorders, Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorders, Dementia, and schizoaffective disorder), as well as anxiety and depression. She has worked in the mental health field in an inpatient setting for the past 4 years.
Currently Najeeah works full time at the VA, where she works with Veterans experiencing various psychosocial stressors, providing them with an open and safe space to discuss and navigate through their crisis and challenges they face day to day. She is a part of Mind Your Self so that she can work with non-Veterans and with the San Antonio community.
Although she frequently utilizes Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing and Solution- Focused Approaches, she is trained in EMDR as well. Najeeah believes that clients are multifaceted and are more than their problems that they face. Najeeah aims to honor each client’s individual thoughts, beliefs, and life’s experiences.
Najeeah believes that with therapeutic assistance, there is no issue too small or big, if it is causing distress, it is worth discussing and tackling to resolve. If it is outside of her wheelhouse, she is adamant about researching and connecting her clients to resources that would best assist in increasing their overall quality of life.
