Sarah Waltz, LMSW

Sarah Waltz, LMSW

Sarah is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Texas. She graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Children and Adolescents, then graduated from the University of Texas San Antonio, with a Master’s degree in Social Work. Sarah is experienced in working with children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as individuals experiencing substance use disorders. She has worked with foster children and youth for over 5 years. She started as a Residential Counselor at a Residential Treatment Center for children ages 5-12, where the focus was teaching children daily living skills. Currently, she works with teens and young adults that have aged out of care, proving youth with a safe adult to turn to when they need help with anything from applying to college to handling interpersonal conflict.

Sarah utilizes a person-centered approach that honors individual’s autonomy and personal experiences. She believes all clients, no matter their age, are experts of their own lives. There is no issue too small, if something is causing distress or imbalance in a client’s life, Sarah will utilize solution-focused strategies aiming to resolve interpersonal conflicts. She has a great ability to identify strengths in clients and emphasize those strengths in order to help clients grow. Sarah is very knowledgeable about additional resources throughout San Antonio. She strives to connect clients to meaningful resources to increase satisfaction and quality of life.

Clients have shared that Sarah is incredibly easy to connect with, feel safe and comfortable with her instantly. Sarah believes that life is difficult, but the best way to find a little relief is to laugh! She encourages clients to be vulnerable and willing to put in the work to achieve the goals they are seeking.
