Shireen is a Licensed Master Social Worker and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with almost 20 years of experience working with children, youth and families. She wasn’t born in Texas but got here as quick as she could. She earned a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Houston and Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin.
Shireen has always been passionate about supporting people’s ability to learn, change and grow. The foundations of her practice approach are client-centered and strengths-based. She pulls from different treatment modalities and ideologies such as cognitive behavior therapy, behavior skills training, systems theory including family systems, attachment, self-compassion and self-care.
Her direct practice experience includes assessment, treatment planning and treatment provision in outpatient, inpatient and community-based settings. The professional accomplishments she is most proud of are coordinating camps for adults with special needs and coordinating a successful international grassroots operation with veterans to evacuate Afghan SIVs and allies post-August 31st, 2021.
Shireen is half Irish, half Middle Eastern and can relate to the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. She is a mom, lifelong equestrian, animal and nature lover and daydreams about having her own equine wellness practice one day.
Shireen is currently engaging in clinical supervision with Dr. Carla Groves to advance her professional credentials further and achieve a higher level of licensure, reflecting her commitment to continuous growth and excellence in her practice.
