Hello and Welcome!
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), fluent in English and Spanish. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work with a concentration in Services to Hispanic Children and Families, both from Our Lady of the Lake University. I am currently working on earning my Licensed Clinical Social Work certification (LCSW).
A little bit about myself – I was born and raised in Rio Grande City, Texas. I am a proud military (Air Force Retired) wife, mother of two beautiful girls and an Army Veteran. During my time in the military, I was stationed at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center where I had the opportunity to assist wounded service members returning from combat. I am passionate about working with veterans and their families, as I understand firsthand the daily sacrifices of our military and their family members.
My years of experience in the public service arena includes working with children and families, veterans, substance abuse, homelessness, mental/behavioral health, and within the criminal justice system.
I take pride in utilizing a person centered approach when meeting with my clients. I believe that pushing a client to change does little more than increase their unwillingness. My goal is to involve my clients at their own pace to formulate their own plan of action for treatment.
Thank you for visiting my profile and I look forward to working with you!
